About the role
Responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a range of software and hardware development, assembly, integration, test, and production efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead a large, cross-disciplinary project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments.
- Develop, oversee, and coordinate the cost/schedule/technical aspects of engineering projects within program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
- Review status of engineering projects and budgets, manage schedules, drive execution, identify opportunities, and deliver results through achieving payment milestones.
- Assess engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Identify, track, mitigate, manage, and disposition program-level risks and opportunities.
- Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product and coordinate between resource managers/supervisors to ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
- Develop schedules using Earned Value (EV) and manage projects using Earned Value Indicators on DCMA-surveilled programs (highest rigor applied).
- Participate in large teams and perform a variety of tasks to drive execution (e.g., value stream mapping activities).
- Work collaboratively in a team environment on quick reaction projects with regular customer contact.
- Report and communicate program performance to senior management and external customers.
- Lead engineering proposal efforts for follow-on Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and new program pursuits.
- Work under the direction of an Enterprise-level Project Engineer to meet business area objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills
- IPTL/CAM professional experience.
- Experience with best practices for project engineering and program execution.
- Experience managing multi-discipline programs.
- Experience in engineering development, integration, production/manufacturing programs (inclusive of SW, HW, FW).
- Experience managing projects with total budgets of $50M+.
- Experience managing a team of Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL) and driving labor resources in a matrix organization.
- Experience with Technical Supplier Management, Risk and Opportunity Management.
- Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities, including cost estimation and technical proposal management.
- Experience leading DOD Government Contract development programs.
- Knowledge of Government contract acquisition lifecycle.
- Experience with management of design-to-cost activities.
- Experience with operations and/or manufacturing activities.
- Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action process and techniques.
- Program Management Institute – PMP certification or internal CAM/IPTL/PL certifications.
- Experience in Electronic Warfare (EW) development programs.
Schedule
9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days—totaling 80 hours worked—and have every other Friday off.
Pay
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $127,500 - $236,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
