Job Overview

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other relevant scheduling software for all phases of energy service projects (engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning).
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to gather necessary schedule input and ensure alignment.
  • Perform critical path analysis, identify potential schedule risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress against baselines, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present regular schedule updates, progress reports, and forecasts to project stakeholders and senior management.
  • Facilitate schedule review meetings and workshops to ensure all team members understand project timelines and their responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain work breakdown structures (WBS) and activity definitions.
  • Conduct "what-if" scenario analysis to evaluate potential impacts of changes or delays.
  • Support claims analysis and dispute resolution by providing accurate and detailed schedule information.
  • Ensure adherence to company scheduling standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior schedulers or project controls personnel.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in project controls scheduling within the energy, oil & gas, or heavy industrial construction sectors.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including WBS, critical path method (CPM), and earned value management (EVM).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with all levels of project personnel and management.
  • Experience with other project controls software (e.g., MS Project, Oracle EPPM) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • PMP or PMI-SP certification is a plus.
