Responsibilities
- Drive the continuous improvement of Project Controls, Planning & Scheduling processes, including the development and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the execution of critical path analysis.
- Provide scheduling leadership for complex Equipment Only (EO) and Engineering, Equipment & Procurement (EEP) projects, as well as Turnkey (TK) projects supporting the PMO.
- Develop and maintain integrated L2/L3 project schedules for a medium portfolio of projects to support project reporting and on time delivery analysis which complies with Customer requirements and adheres to internal processes and standards.
- Attend ITO to OTR handover meeting to receive L1 bid schedule and contract details; understand and confirm ITO assumptions and risk summary provided during handoff.
- Attend Customer Kickoff Meeting (CKOM) and follow up on all open action items related to schedule execution.
- Attend release meetings led by ITO to understand project scope, ITO assumptions, and contribute to Delivery Matrix development.
- Develop Commitment Meeting file based on functional inputs, project requirements and contract requirements; lead the Commitment Meeting with functional owners to resolve initial schedule disconnects and reach agreement on the project baseline.
- Set up integrated project schedule in P6 (including L3/L2 and S curves) baseline working with internal GEV team and in alignment with Global Project Control, Planning and Scheduling processes.
- Ensure schedules accurately reflect project scope and execution strategy.
- Continuously monitor project on time delivery performance to ensure knowledge of main issues and how issues are being mitigated.
- Proactively monitor project schedule to highlight slippages, inaccurate data causing erroneous forecasts/reporting and identifies corrective actions and action owner to resolve issues.
- Update project schedule based on inputs from GEV team to ensure project schedule accurately reflects the project status.
- Perform schedule analysis on weekly/monthly basis to identify the critical impacts and provide the mitigations suggestions.
- Ensure project schedule updates and KPIs are reflected in various tools (Planner Dashboard, OTD Tracker, Pulse & WIPT).
- Work with project team to identify mitigation strategies and ensure strategies are reflected in project schedule.
- Escalate critical project issues to the internal project manager and project team.
- Ensure reports for other functions and customers accurately reflect status of project equipment and provide to customer and business reporting.
- Communicate to functions impact of execution strategy changes and resulting changes to required dates.
- Act as a resource for project team members and support with data, analysis, and root causes of schedule variances.
- Use judgement and propose different solutions to address more complicated project scenarios.
- Perform critical path analysis for deliverables and ensure no impact to contract dates.
- Claims (EOT, etc.); perform delay analysis to support extension of time and cost claims.
- Leverage experience to participate in discussions and provide feedback to improve processes and tools for the Planning team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- 5 years experience in Project Control Planning & Scheduling function within an EPC environment.
- 3 years of experience with Oracle Primavera P6 or equivalent project, program and portfolio management tools.
Desired characteristics
- Experience in Extension of time claims / forensic planning.
- Knowledge of power plant principles and work processes of EPC environments.

- Resource loading in P6 schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Open for travel up to 10%.
Pay
For Canadian-based positions: $105,000.00 - $145,000.00 CAD. Bonus eligibility: discretionary variable annual incentive bonus.
For U.S.-based positions: $100,000.00 - $166,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
