About the role

We're seeking a Lead Product Designer to elevate the quality, strategy, and impact of product design across Givelify's mobile and web experiences. You'll drive design excellence, guide cross-functional alignment, and shape end-to-end product vision—from discovery through delivery. In this role, you'll combine hands-on design leadership with systems-level thinking to create simple, inspiring, and scalable product experiences for our giving community.

The Lead Product Designer reports to the Director of Product Design and collaborates with Givelify's Creative Team, which delivers world-class design across the business in partnership with product, technology, marketing, support, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Product Design Initiatives: Lead design initiatives, imagine novel solutions, and guide cross-functional teams toward cohesive product outcomes. Move fluidly across the entire design process—from problem framing to high-fidelity prototypes—and elevate complexity into elegant simplicity.
  • Own End-to-End Design Execution: Ensure successful delivery of product experiences by driving all phases of design work, from discovery and solution ideation to refined interfaces and engineering handoff. Set the standard for quality, clarity, and completeness.
  • Optimize Design Operations & Efficiency: Maximize throughput and design velocity by shaping and owning design operations. Establish structure, anticipate needs, remove friction, and scale effective design practices across teams.
  • Quality Elevation & Feedback Culture: Continuously raise the bar for design excellence by soliciting, synthesizing, and acting on feedback from stakeholders. Model a culture of "feedback is fuel" to strengthen both the work and the team.
  • Apply Human-Centered Design for Major Initiatives: Shape end-to-end product experiences by driving cross-functional conversations, orchestrating user flows, and guiding teams from concept through launch with a deeply human-centered approach.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate strategically with Product, Engineering, and senior leaders to influence priorities, illuminate trade-offs, and ensure every touchpoint reflects Givelify's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Drive Insight-Informed Decision Making: Embed a deep understanding of Givelify's audiences and business strategy into design decisions, representing the customer perspective to guide product direction and elevate design quality.
  • Advance the Design System & Standards: Drive growth and adoption of the Givelify Design System, ensuring scalable, consistent, and brand-aligned experiences across platforms while coaching teams on best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of B2C native mobile app experience.
  • Experience working on a native mobile apps team.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe CC suite, Sketch, Figma, and/or other industry-standard creative tools.
  • Portfolio highlighting your best work (password required).
  • Prototyping: Experience with lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes, knowing when to use each and embracing an iterative process.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish a plus.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to articulate what makes a good vs. great design and express your design point of view.
  • Problem solver who requires very little guidance on projects and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert-level applied understanding of formal design elements, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion.
  • (Bonus) Research: Familiarity with front-end research (light ethnography) and/or ability to facilitate user testing sessions.
  • (Bonus) Remote: Experience working with remote teams.

Skills

  • Problem-Solving: Resourceful and creative in solving complex issues. Uses sound judgment, data, and collaboration to connect design decisions to brand and business outcomes.
  • Integrity: Demonstrates congruence in thought, speech, and action. Trusted to act with courage and do the right thing.
  • Collaboration: Fosters productive relationships, values others' opinions, shows appreciation, and seeks to understand different perspectives.
  • Customer Focus: Adopts a human-centric approach that meets or anticipates customers' needs when developing solutions.
  • Drive for Results: Reliable, resourceful, and tenacious in achieving key desired results.
  • Effective Communication: Inspires and aligns through clear, thoughtful dialogue.
  • Mentorship: Invests in the growth and success of fellow designers.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay.
  • Full benefits to help care for you today and in the future.
  • Amazing perks, including flexible PTO.
  • Opportunity to put passion and purpose front and center in your work.
