Circle is seeking a Lead Product Designer to join their Identity Team. This role is part of a horizontal platform team, responsible for designing foundational systems like Authentication, Roles & Permissions, and Billing that all other product teams at Circle will rely on.
About the role
- Transforming Chaos into Order: Circle is evolving from a startup to a mature tech organization. The Lead Product Designer will audit existing, fragmented workflows and unify them into a cohesive platform experience.
- Unified Identity: Designing how users experience Roles, Permissions, and Team Management, simplifying complex logic for both admins and end-users.
- Centralized Billing Infrastructure: Designing a scalable billing and subscription experience that integrates seamlessly across the Circle ecosystem.
- Security meets UX: Tackling high-stakes flows such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO) setup, and account recovery, ensuring robust security without compromising usability.
Responsibilities
- Audit and unify existing fragmented workflows into a cohesive platform experience.
- Design intuitive user experiences for Roles, Permissions, and Team Management.
- Design a scalable billing and subscription experience that integrates seamlessly across the Circle ecosystem.
- Tackle high-stakes flows like MFA, SSO setup, and account recovery, ensuring security and usability.
Requirements
- Platform & Systems Experience: Proven track record working on platform teams, internal tools, or design systems.
- Exceptional UI & Visual Design Skills: Mastery of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy; attention to detail and pixel perfection.
- Complexity Wrangling: Comfortable with technical complexity; able to transform messy requirements into clean, logical UI.
- Component-Based Thinking: Expertise in Figma; builds scalable components using auto-layout, variables, and variants that other designers can easily consume.
- Strategic Communication: Can articulate design decisions and present to leadership; negotiates with engineering partners to maintain design quality.
- Empathy for Internal & External Users: Understands the needs of both internal developers/designers and external customers.
Qualifications
- Proven track record working on platform teams, internal tools, or design systems.

Benefits
- Transparent compensation range: $172,500 - $225,000 based on relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and organizational needs.
