Circle is seeking a Lead Product Designer to join our Identity Team. This role is part of a horizontal platform team, focusing on designing foundational systems that every other product team at Circle relies on.

About the role

  • Transforming Chaos into Order: Unify fragmented workflows into a cohesive platform experience.
  • Unified Identity: Design roles, permissions, and team management in a way that is intuitive for both admins and end-users.
  • Centralized Billing Infrastructure: Design a scalable billing and subscription system that integrates seamlessly across the Circle ecosystem.
  • Security meets UX: Tackle high-stakes flows such as Multi-Factor Authentication, Single Sign-On setup, and account recovery, ensuring security and usability are balanced.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and unify existing, fragmented workflows into a cohesive platform experience.
  • Design how users experience Roles, Permissions, and Team Management, making complex logic intuitive for both admins and end-users.
  • Design a scalable billing and subscription experience that integrates seamlessly across the Circle ecosystem.
  • Tackle high-stakes flows like Multi-Factor Authentication, SSO setup, and account recovery, ensuring security is balanced with usability.

Requirements

  • Platform & Systems Experience: Proven track record working on platform teams, internal tools, or design systems.
  • Exceptional UI & Visual Design Skills: Mastery of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy; a deep commitment to "fit and finish" and pixel perfection.
  • Complexity Wrangling: Comfortable with technical complexity; able to transform messy requirements documents into clean, logical UIs.
  • Component-Based Thinking: Expertise in Figma; builds scalable components using auto-layout, variables, and variants that other designers can easily consume.
  • Strategic Communication: Can articulate the "why" behind design decisions; comfortable presenting to leadership and negotiating with engineering partners.
  • Empathy for Internal & External Users: Understands the needs of both internal developers/designers and external customers.

Qualifications

Benefits

  • Transparent compensation range based on relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and organizational needs.
  • Competitive base pay ranging from $172,500 to $225,000.
