As a Lead Principal Engineer – Analog Design on the Research & Development team, you will merge creativity with technical expertise to shape the future of technology, drive groundbreaking projects, and bring new ideas to life.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of IC Design Engineers and develop talent for technical and career growth.
  • Design and verify DC‑DC control loops, addressing compensation, transient response, EMI/EMC, and efficiency optimization.
  • Handle high‑voltage devices (BCD processes), gate drivers, synchronous rectification, and current sensing.
  • Perform SPICE simulations (DC/AC/transient/noise) and stability/Bode analysis for control loops, including PSRR/CMRR.
  • Run PVT corner and Monte Carlo analyses (mismatch/yield) with sensitivity studies; conduct parasitic‑aware simulations post‑layout.
  • Create behavioral models (Verilog‑A/MATLAB) for speed and architecture exploration, including back‑annotation and correlation.
  • Collaborate on layout and physical verification: interpret DRC, LVS, PEX; assist with floor‑planning, device sizing, resistor/capacitor selection; perform basic EM/IR checks.
  • Incorporate ESD/latch‑up constraints and reliability rules for target processes (typically CMOS/BCD for power).
  • Integrate blocks into chip/top‑level designs: biasing, references, I/O pairing/ESD, power domains, startup/reset sequencing.
  • Support ATE/test engineering with characterization vectors, limit setting, and yield/ramp investigations.
  • Partner with Systems/Applications to translate requirements into circuit specifications; work with Reliability/Quality on stress/aging (BTI/HCI/EM) considerations; coordinate with Packaging on parasitic/thermal issues; collaborate with Test/Production, DfT, and test‑time optimization; engage with Technology Development on silicon process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical leadership positions.
  • Significant experience in DC‑DC control and Power IC development.
  • Methodical, data‑driven problem‑solving approach.
  • Clear, concise communication and a collaborative mindset that proactively syncs with coworkers.
  • Curious, fast learner with an innovative mindset.
  • Customer‑impact oriented.
