Lead Preschool Teacher

About the role

BMH-BJ Preschool is a play-based school seeking lead teachers for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. We are looking for warm, vibrant, flexible, and team-oriented individuals who want to be part of our community.

Responsibilities

• Develop a safe, positive learning environment for young learners.
• Create a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with our program philosophy.
• Incorporate Jewish traditions, culture, values, and Israel into the curriculum.
• Communicate regularly with families through weekly newsletters.
• Create opportunities for families to be involved in their child's learning.
• Engage children positively and maintain their trust and attention.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Safeguard children at all times.
• Discuss children's development with parents.
• Communicate with parents about their children's behavior.
• Lift/carry up to 35 pounds, sit on the ground with children, run short distances, and bend at the waist.
• Be flexible and willing to move around the classroom.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Six semester hours in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
• Knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods.
• The ability to engage children and earn their trust and attention.
• Maintain a Positive Identification System (PDIS) account.
• Background check required.
