About the role
The TMBC Power Sports Sales Lead assists the Marine Group Sales Manager in providing daily direction, including merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, sales team training, coaching, and customer service. This role also involves performing selling and customer service activities to help Boat and ATV customers make informed buying decisions.
Responsibilities
- Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
- Engages all customers entering the department in a friendly and timely manner.
- Supports the GSM in achieving Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage, and Payroll Goals.
- Provides daily leadership, direction, and motivation to the Outfitters within the Department, including preparation of task lists and follow-up.
- Meets with potential customers to determine their boating or ATV needs and provides information to help them make informed buying decisions.
- Maintains current product knowledge using available resources such as product brochures, the Internet, and product information training meetings.
- Maintains awareness of advertised items, current pricing structures, and promotions.
- Ensures all Sales Consultants remain current on selling skills training, Tracker Way Certification, and yearly re-certification.
- Works cooperatively with the Service Department to ensure seamless delivery to the customer.
- Maintains complete confidentiality of all sensitive and personal information.
- Prepares the showroom each morning to ensure proper signage, cleanliness, and presentable products in sellable condition.
- Generates and manages leads and prospects in the provided Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, including entering new customers and documenting follow-up activities.
- Assists all Sales Consultants with training and application of the dealership CRM.
- Resolves customer and Outfitter opportunities with the GSM and HR Manager.
- Assists the GSM with coordination of all "Special Events," maintenance of pricing and UPC integrity, determining proper assortments, accuracy of inventory, and proper display, signing, and pricing of all advertised items.
- Assists the GSM in carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning and directing work, performance evaluation, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Meets and exceeds pre-determined individual monthly sales goals based on employment status, scheduled hours, and historical sales.
- Assists all sales consultants in the department with the selling process to meet and exceed individual and company monthly sales goals.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2 – 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a Retail or Sales environment.
Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
- Ability to read and analyze certain reports.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, outfitters, customers, and the public.
- Ability to conduct meetings and make presentations to small groups.
- Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, database management, electronic point of sale, inventory management systems, and dealer management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, outfitters, and customers.
Physical Requirements

Pay
Starting pay rate: $20.00 - $22.75 per hour.
