Duties

• Respond to and investigate emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
• Conduct traffic law enforcement patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer.
• Perform protection duties to deter, detect, and deny unauthorized access at fixed installation, internal compound, and incident perimeter posts.
• Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with federal and state laws to transcribe data.

Requirements

• Conditions of employment: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
• Successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes.
• Weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements.
• Mission Essential (IAW DODI 3024.42 and DTM 17-004) position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designed/identified emergency conditions.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
• Irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Secret security clearance investigation.
• Up to 10% Official Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required.
• Subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
• Designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
• Must comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
