Lead - Pharmacy Business and Procurement Strategy

About the role

The role is within the Alfred Pharmacy Department, which operates over 4 sites within the Alfred Care Group. It involves leading the development and delivery of a long-term, coordinated medication procurement and supply strategy aligned with organizational priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of a long-term, coordinated medication procurement and supply strategy aligned with organizational priorities
• Oversee pharmaceutical procurement, supplier relationships, and contract performance to ensure high-quality, value-driven outcomes
• Drive financial performance through expenditure management, cost optimisation initiatives, and procurement efficiencies
• Provide data-driven insights, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement
• Possess strong commercial acumen, with proven ability to manage budgets, analyse financial performance, and deliver value through procurement
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve supply processes and outcomes

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement, supply chain management, or business strategy within healthcare or a similarly complex environment
• Strong commercial acumen, with proven ability to manage budgets, analyse financial performance, and deliver value through procurement
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, building effective relationships internally and externally
• Strong analytical capability and experience using data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
• Effective communication, able to influence and translate strategy into action across diverse stakeholder groups
• Show initiative, adaptability, and leadership within dynamic environments
• Maintain a strong commitment to patient-centered care and high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• HS7 / TA20–TA22 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Permanent Full Time Position (80hrs per f/n) + monthly ADO
