Lead Pharmacist, RxARECARE Operations

About the role
This position leads the development and management of RxARECARE-specific teams at PANTHERx™ Rare Pharmacy, supporting the Supervisor in executing designed RxARECARE programs. Responsibilities include patient onboarding, engagement, adherence programs, quality, training, and addressing escalated concerns from patients, manufacturers, prescribers, or leadership.
Responsibilities
- Liaise between RxARECARE Teams and Supervisor, leading operational and program-specific needs and projects.
- Monitor and oversee Prior Authorization and Appeals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for team-specific questions and escalations.
- Develop SWFT and Data builds for program-specific processes or changes.
- Conduct staff training for new processes or process changes.
- Distribute responsibilities to ensure all patient engagement activities are handled daily.
- Evaluate and act on daily reports to exceed partner expectations.
- Participate in leadership meetings to discuss staff needs and accomplishments.
- Staff within the team to support current business needs.
- Additional projects and activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.
- Unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist License.
- Current enrollment in NABP Verify.
- Registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy as an NABP Verified Pharmacist, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
- High level of independent judgment, initiative, and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, with clarity, logic, and consistency.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects, adjust priorities, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmacy workflow (backend SWFT and data knowledge).
- Experience with prior authorizations and appeal support, including submitting prior authorizations and writing appeals.
- 2 years as a practicing, licensed pharmacist in a specialty pharmacy.
- 1 year of experience in a leadership role, managing team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Work Environment
This role operates in a well-lit, mail-order distribution pharmacy environment and routinely uses pharmaceutical equipment and safety supplies. Personal protective equipment, including gloves, eye protection, and face masks, may be required.
