Lead Peri-Operative Assistant / 40 Hours / Afternoon Shift

Location: Clinton Township, MI | Hospital: Henry Ford Macomb Hospital

About the role

Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, provides service support for assigned Surgical Services area(s) related to building services, patient transport, and patient preparation. Assists Surgical Services personnel in the positioning and maintenance of patient safety. Leads a team of four or more perioperative assistants.

Responsibilities

• Provide service support for Surgical Services areas, including building services, patient transport, and patient preparation.
• Assist in positioning and maintaining patient safety.
• Lead a team of four or more perioperative assistants.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• At least two years of experience as a Peri-Operative Assistant (POA) required.
• Must possess and maintain BLS-A certification.

Work Environment

• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Physical ability to lift patients and move supplies and equipment.
• Works in a patient care area environment with potential exposure to extreme temperature variations, communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, acute patient conditions, infection, radiation, laser, and hazardous gases.

Schedule

40 hours per week, Afternoon Shift, includes weekends.
