About the role

The Patient Transport Worker Lead at Swedish Hospital (Aramark) transports patients, belongings, medical records, medications, equipment, and specimens on and off campus using wheelchair, stretcher, bed, cart, or van, guided by the Hospital Transportation computer dispatch and two‑way radio. The role requires availability for rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co‑workers.
• Is responsive to customer needs.
• Provides transportation to various areas of the institution to facilitate patient care.
• Safely transports patients and their belongings, medical records, charts, blood, specimen, and equipment.
• Safely moves patients with traction, IVs, drainage apparatus, oxygen, and other encumbrances.
• Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment.
• Follows OSHA and other local, state, and federal regulations.
• Notifies dispatcher of status of assigned duties and proceeds as instructed.
• Transports patients upon admission and discharge, helping them in and out of vehicles at entrances.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
• Fluent English communication required.
• Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to apply elementary math functions.
• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Pay

Hourly rate of $18.50, plus shift and weekend differentials.

Schedule
