Lead Patient Care Technician
Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Lead Patient Care Technician (PCT) / CNA, you will deliver high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. You will work under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department. You will also help with ongoing training and/or precepting new and current employees, ensure new processes, equipment, and other changes are communicated and/or taught to other PCTs, assist in the hiring process by participating in the peer interview process, develop the orientation manual and assist with orientation of new personnel, and serve as a positive role model and resource for peers.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- CNA Training Program is required.
- Two or more years of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- One or more years of experience in an HCA facility is required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- CNA certification with the state or Fundamentals of Nursing Course at an accredited school is required.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- HCA Preceptor Training is required within 90 days of hire.
