Lead Pastor for the Cantonese Congregation

We seek a pastor whose personal faith and ministry are rooted in the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and who is either formally affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention or fully aligned with its doctrines.

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary (or equivalent).
• Minimum of three years of ministry experience in a North American Chinese church (or equivalent context).
• Cantonese as primary language; English proficiency required; Mandarin fluency a plus.
• Ordained pastor preferred.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or valid work authorization.
• Spiritual and emotional maturity as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and direction for the Cantonese Congregation under the Senior Pastor’s guidance and in alignment with the church’s overarching vision.
• Preach and teach in Cantonese.
• Supervise and equip ministers and lay leaders serving the Cantonese Congregation.
• Develop lay leaders and collaborate with them to fulfill the church’s mission.
• Provide pastoral care to the congregation.
• Lead evangelism efforts in the local neighborhood, nearby communities, and global missions.
• Make disciples of Christ.
• Attend UDB and Church Council meetings.
• Perform administrative duties necessary to fulfill ministerial functions.
• Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Pay

$70,000 – $85,000 per year, plus medical and dental insurance coverage.
