About the role

The Lead Pastor at Green Valley Church is a key leader in a staff-led, growing church in Hoover, Alabama. The ideal candidate must meet biblical qualifications for elders and embody Christlike character and integrity. They serve as the primary spiritual leader, responsible for preaching, vision, and leadership. Additionally, they function as the lead elder within an elder-governed structure and as the head of staff in a staff-led model, ensuring alignment between doctrine, mission, and ministry execution.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach the Bible in a way that inspires and equips the congregation.
• Develop and implement a clear vision for the church's future, aligning with the mission and values.
• Lead and mentor the pastoral team, fostering a culture of servant leadership and collaboration.
• Oversee the church's operations, ensuring alignment with the church's doctrinal stance and mission.
• Engage with the community through outreach and partnerships, reflecting the church's commitment to Kingdom impact.

Requirements

• Biblical training and ordination from a recognized seminary or theological institution.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in church leadership, preferably in a similar-sized congregation.
• A proven track record of effective communication, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse congregation and community partners.
• Experience in strategic planning and organizational management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
