About the role

The RUCARES program at Children’s Specialized Hospital delivers life-changing applied behavior analytic (ABA) services to children facing complex developmental and behavioral challenges. • Support skill-acquisition programs (such as feeding skills, self-feeding, and communication) and behavior-reduction programs (such as extinction protocols).
  • Train parents and school personnel to ensure therapeutic success carries over seamlessly into the home and community.
  • Maintain clinic cleanliness, organize department materials, and assist clinical faculty with cutting-edge research activities.

  • Physical stamina and emotional stability to safely support patients through intense behavioral challenges (including aggression, self-injury, elopement, or vomiting).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently, assist with over 100 pounds, and comfortably stand, sit, or move for extended periods.
  • Adherence to a S.A.F.E.T.Y mindset, practicing the S.T.A.R method (Stop, Think, Act, Review), speaking up instantly for workplace safety, and interacting with a positive tone.
  • Team-oriented attitude, openness to constructive coaching, and an active, questioning approach to improving patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a related field.
  • Prior experience working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges in an educational, instructional, or therapeutic setting.

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO).
