Lead Paramedic - Critical Care Transport - FT

Job Summary

Lead Paramedics help provide advanced medical care to patients. Individuals must have the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Paramedics may need to assist and give direction to additional EMS Responders at the scene and/or during transport. In addition to the Paramedic responsibilities, the Lead Paramedic will be the key contact for EMS while on scene. The individual will help provide support for management and staff. The Lead Paramedic will assist with monitoring productivity and tracking Emergency Medical Services (EMS). This individual will also assist management in the EMS Operations which will include but not limited to; assisting with keeping up with regulations, licensing, staffing, staff education, equipment maintenance, finance, and quality assurance as needed. The Lead Paramedic will act as a formal resource for the EMS staff. Individuals will assist with patient care in the receiving facility; lifting and moving patients as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred.
• A minimum of two years of experience as a paramedic in an Ambulance setting.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques, knowledge of how various equipment such as a monitor or defibrillator work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must hold national registry status at a Paramedic level. Depending on state requirements, individuals may need to have a state license.
• Additional licensures as required depending upon state; Paramedic (PAR) Certification, National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS)100, 200, and 700 completed and continued education hour's as mandated by accreditation.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent, advanced version for paramedics, International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred depending on location.
• Additional training provided/workshops and staff meetings are to be attended as per policy.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record.
