About the Role

As a Lead or Staff Software Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our platform's long-term vision. You'll be responsible for setting architectural direction, influencing key decisions, and leading through your technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Set or contribute towards architectural direction and evolve systems to support long-term scalability and performance.
  • Identify and implement tools, frameworks, and practices that improve team productivity.
  • Anticipate product-level technical issues and make proactive design decisions.
  • Break down complex projects into maintainable systems for teams to build confidently.
  • Lead by example with high-quality, hands-on technical contributions.
  • Mentor engineers on leadership, strategy, and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve technical challenges.
  • Influence and drive technical decisions across teams and stakeholders.
  • Stay connected with company-wide initiatives to anticipate and remove blockers.
  • Contribute to team planning and provide guidance on project prioritization.

Requirements

We're seeking candidates with 5-8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong preference for Ruby on Rails, C#, F#, Java, Elm, or React (TypeScript). Full-stack experience in one or more technology stacks is essential, along with a proven track record in system design, architecture, and scalable software.

You should also have experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, excellent collaboration and influence skills, and comfort with agile development methodologies. Familiarity with functional languages like Elm, Haskell, OCaml, Elixir, or F# is a plus, as is experience in the logistics industry.

Primary location: Dallas, TX. Remote positions also available within the U.S.
