The Operational Risk Management Lead Consultant will execute the ORM risk function by overseeing implementation of MetLife’s Non-Financial Risk Management Framework for the Group Benefits business. ORM collaborates across Global Risk Management and actively engages business leaders, technology, operations, compliance, and first-line control functions to maintain an ongoing view of operational risk for the business, escalate potential concerns, and drive risk mitigation activities. This position will play a key role in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships while implementing an ongoing operating model to proactively identify, monitor, and manage operational risks in support of business strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk governance oversight, ensuring compliance with risk management frameworks, policies, and risk appetite standards.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders by identifying emerging risks, providing risk insights, and supporting informed decision-making.
• Partner with business and control functions to design, implement, and monitor risk mitigation strategies, analytics, and risk tolerance measures.
• Lead risk assessment activities, including monitoring risk events, issues, remediation efforts, and key risk/performance indicators.
