Lead Nurse Practitioner

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Leadership
• Diagnose, treat and medically manage work-related injuries and illnesses for Bath Iron Works employees.
• Perform routine medical surveillance, physical examination, and case review for a variety of programs, including exposures from asbestos, heavy metals, various environmental toxins, and noise; DOT; Fire Brigade and other programs.
• Supervise Nurse Practitioners
• Provide day-to-day clinical guidance and support to other NPs.
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on skill, scope of practice, and workload.
• Adequate staffing and coverage ensured.
• Assist with scheduling or shift planning.
• Work with Clinical Supervisor monitoring patient flow and triage efficiency.

Requirements

• Licensed as a registered professional nurse practitioner required.
• Masters Degree in Nursing required.
• Current State of Maine APN license required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a nurse practitioner in either family or adult practice required.
• Previous managerial experience required.
• Occupational health experience is highly desirable.
• Must be able to maneuver through the Shipyard.
• Must be able to participate in Sea Trials.
