Lead, MRI Technologist
Position Summary
The MRI Lead is under the direction of the Imaging Services Manager and serves as an extension of Imaging leadership. The MRI Lead performs all routine MRI and MRgFUS exams, and post-image reconstructions as applicable within the scope of the Imaging Services Department. Under general supervision, the MRI Lead demonstrates a high level of proficiency while performing routine and special MRI examinations and procedures. The MRI Lead assists Imaging Services leadership with implementing department operational and quality objectives including meeting all state, federal, ACR and other regulatory requirements, policy, procedure and protocol development, supervising the MRI department’s workflow, and maintaining equipment/scanners. Additionally, they promote a positive team environment and maintain effective working relationships with management, physicians, coworkers, patients, and others.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
- Ability to effectively and compassionately supervise and lead department staff members.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Radiologists, physicians, leadership, and staff.
- Ability to comply with and educate staff and physicians on all MRI safety principles.
- Effectively identifies and implements performance improvement techniques.
- Operate MRI and MRgFUS systems to appropriately deliver and train staff for optimal image quality.
- Delivers quality customer service.

Minimum Requirements
- Qualifications/Work Experience:
- 2 years of experience performing routine MRI procedures on the geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and neonate patient populations, required
- 2 years of full-time experience at Orange Coast Medical Center as an MRI Technologist, required
- Supervisory experience, preferred
- Education/Licensure/Certification:
- ARRT (MR) Certification or ARMRIT Certification, required
- MRSO Certificate, preferred
- IV Certification, required
- American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), required
