Responsibilities
Oversees the Radiology activities within the department. Uses effective leadership, judgment and problem-solving skills in a teamwork environment. Maintains a high level of expertise in the use of all equipment in the area. Ensures the production of high-quality images that meet the standards established by the Mayo Radiology Department. Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff and patients. In addition to these duties, the Lead Radiologic Technologist provides leadership, builds commitment, educates and trains personnel in the work area and generates feedback. May be required to work varied hours, shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an ARRT approved or recognized Health Science program.
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
- Two years modality specific experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service required. Ability to improvise standard procedures required. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, making decisions and directing work and patient flow to achieve maximum operational efficiency required. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills required.
- Incumbents hired into the role prior to February 15, 2018 are required to meet the previous requirements of graduating from an accredited radiography, sonography or nuclear medicine program.
- ARRT (MR) credential required.
- Annual documentation of modality specific certification required.
- CPR/BLS certification required.
