About the role
The Lead Mobile Engineer will be responsible for maintenance and repairs to multiple buildings, including installation, repair, and maintenance of facility equipment, oversight of the physical plant, and coordination of activities to ensure safety and health. This role also involves implementing and documenting site safety plans and operational standards, as well as enforcing engineering department policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provides supervision and is responsible for the implementation of all preventive maintenance and repair operations at the facility.
- Schedules emergency repair activities according to priority and the abilities of assigned personnel.
- Provides technical advice, encouragement, and instruction to subordinates in areas such as electric theory, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and safety procedures.
- Performs equipment inspections, noting equipment condition, and ensuring proper maintenance is performed in accordance with standards.
- Responsible for the implementation of the quality assurance program for all work performed by the department.
- Maintains and performs repairs to buildings, utilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Optimizes the repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems.
- Uses best practices to troubleshoot and repair equipment and system problems efficiently.
- Maintains continuous operations of equipment by troubleshooting and repairing.
- Provides hands-on training and collaboration to other engineering team members.
- Fosters a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
- Records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes appropriate daily entries.
- Conducts utility and equipment tests.
- Records pertinent data on all equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local codes and requirements.
- Processes administrative paperwork in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Actively functions as a team member and demonstrates commitment to quality of service.
- Complies with company and facility-specific policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Maintains regular attendance in the workplace.
- Provides the highest quality of service to tenants, staff, and visitors.
- Participates in regular communication with the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, management, tenants, and other staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications or associate degree preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities management, or building engineering.
- 2+ years of experience leading maintenance teams or serving in a senior building engineer capacity.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and controls, electrical distribution systems, plumbing systems, building automation systems (BAS), and fire and life safety systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex building system issues.
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with CMMS or maintenance management software.
Pay
$88.28 hourly rate.
