Lead Mental Health Technician

Job Summary

Perimeter Behavioral Healthcare of Forrest City is seeking a full-time Lead Mental Health Technician. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to improving patient lives through a patient-centered, collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
• Conduct Handle with Care, BLS, and MHT Academy trainings.
• Precept and train new and existing MHTs.
• Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient's behavior.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to patients.
• Orient patients to the unit and assist them with daily living skills.
• Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
• Provide physical restraint or intervention if appropriate. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent. Preference given to those with education or work experience in psychology, human services, nursing, or social work environments.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of related experience in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience required.
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of training in BLS and Handle with Care training within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
