Lead Medical Technologist- Blood Bank
About the Role
The Blood Bank Lead collects and prepares specimens and performs laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Verifies, records, and reports lab results in an accurate and timely manner on all tests performed. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and laboratory procedures, including maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment, instruments, and work area. In addition to MLT/MT responsibilities, this position serves as a lead technologist for Blood Bank, with primary responsibility for instrument operation, maintenance, quality control, and compliance with all regulatory standards pertaining to Blood Bank.
Requirements
- Associate Degree required (Bachelor’s preferred) from an NCCLS accredited or equivalent program
- Certification: ASCP, AAB, AMT, or equivalent
- At least one year of blood banking experience
