POSITION SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Help coordinate daily front office and call center operations
- Support, train, and mentor Medical Office Specialist team members
- Aid in customer service coaching and workflow questions
- Monitor productivity, quality, and front office efficiency
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer and transfer phone calls
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments
- Verify and update patient information in the medical record
- Collect co-pays and payments at the time of service
- Absorb and assist with payment plans and daily bank deposits
- Resolve patient concerns and escalate issues when needed
REQUIRED
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, hospital, dental office, or healthcare front office setting
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Strong computer, EHR, and data entry skills
- Ability to support and guide team members professionally
- Ability to handle cash and complete basic math accurately
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing
- Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office
- Knowledge of Patient Centered Medical Home and Meaningful Use
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
