The Lead Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) position supports this mission by performing a full range of laboratory testing and collaborating with the Technical Specialist to enhance laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
- Performs the duties of a Medical Lab Scientist
- Assists the Technical Specialist with the implementation of new procedures and policies
- Collaborates with the Technical Specialist in coordinating the proficiency testing program
- Recommends system changes to improve efficiency and accuracy of workflow
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program
- Certifications: MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility for a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP)
- Experience: 2 years of clinical lab experience required, 5 years preferred
