Lead Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) - Core Laboratory - Tiffin Hospital

Responsibilities

• Performs the duties of a Medical Lab Scientist
• Assists Technical Specialist with the implementation of new procedures and policies
• Collaborates with the Technical Specialist in coordinating the proficiency testing program to ensure that all testing is registered, analyzed, and reviewed to meet established deadlines
• Recommends system changes to increase efficiency and accuracy of workflow and ensure daily operational efficiencies
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in one of the following: Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA approved program (required)
• Experience: 2 years of clinical lab experience required, 5 years of clinical lab experience preferred, but not required
• Skills & Abilities: Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment, engage with staff and patients in a professional manner

Qualifications

• For BSMH, MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)
• For RSFH (as of 3/27/25), if registry eligible, must achieve certification within 12 months from hire date.
