Lead Medical Lab Scientist, Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Leading all aspects of operation in assigned section/team/department
• Preparation and maintenance of records, reports, policies and procedures
• Analysis of testing methodologies
• Employee training/staffing
• Technical oversight
• Compliance
• Works in collaboration with team members to coordinate tasks, priorities, goals and achievements with management
• Aid in test validations, regulatory compliance, quality control/assurance, and maintenance within assigned area
• Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, and prevention of disease

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology, or a life/biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) preferred
• 3 years of hospital experience required
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists), or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) required according to state regulations
