Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with EHS standards, regulations, and plant guidelines.
- Lead capital and engineering projects up to $5M from concept through commercialization.
- Design, develop, and optimize tissue converting equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Apply engineering and project management principles to improve operational performance and reliability.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues using root-cause analysis.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, reliability teams, and external vendors to achieve business objectives.
- Develop innovative solutions that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and process efficiency.
- Provide occasional on-call technical support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution required.
- 3+ years of technical and/or operational experience; recent graduates with relevant internship, co-op, or industry experience will also be considered.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, machine safety, mechanical design, automation controls, project execution, asset management, technical documentation, and Lean manufacturing principles.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently or to lead a team to complete projects within required timeframes.
- A collaborative work style with the ability to improve teamwork and drive results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and background in Manufacturing/production including a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process.
- Experience working with external technical service suppliers.
- Process Technologies: Merging Tissue-making Applications contributing to Converting Processes.
- Winding and Web Handling experience.
- OEM Equipment Design.
