Lead, Mechanical Dimensional Inspector III **30% Shift Differential & 10% Lead Incentive**

Position Summary

The Lead, Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector is responsible for performing complex mechanical inspections according to technical documentation, determining product acceptability, and participating in continuous improvement efforts.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Give direction and effectively train Level I & II MDI inspectors
• Collaborate with production leads and CMM programmers to resolve quality issues
• Review inspection data to ensure integrity and investigate discrepancies
• Run complex setups and inspection programs, including programming, verifying downloads, and communicating results
• Absolutely interpret dimensional tolerances and specifications and apply them to components
• Identify and apply complex datum structures and feature control frames
• Train others in best practice inspection methods
• Operate independently to identify and complete required tasking
• Participate in problem-solving teams for quality failures
• Maintain equipment and gaging, request maintenance, and consult with maintenance representatives
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety and ISO procedures

Education/Experience & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required, typically 7+ years of experience
• Previous leadership experience preferred
• Ability to motivate and coach team members
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• In-depth understanding of ASME Y14.5
• Fluent in setup of complex parts and use of inspection tools
• Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
• Ability to identify roadblocks and areas for improvement
