Lead Mechanical Design Engineer- Remote/Austin

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This role will drive advanced mechanical design efforts for complex products, with a strong focus on liquid cooling and thermal management solutions. The ideal candidate will partner closely with system architects, suppliers, and engineering teammates to translate requirements into robust designs from concept through production. This position also involves guiding technical trade-offs, supporting prototype verification, and helping mentor a distributed engineering team. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $115,500 – $207,900 annually Responsibilities Partner with system architects to clarify design requirements and define mechanical architecture Lead design of advanced liquid cooling and thermal management products Assemble prototypes and verify their form, fit, and function Manage external suppliers and provide input to their product roadmaps Define design innovations and identify potential patentable solutions Lead resolution of complex design issues and manage design trade-offs Mentor and coach less experienced engineers Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; MSME or PhD preferred 8+ years of mechanical design and verification experience Experience designing liquid cooling systems and thermal management solutions Demonstrated success leading product development from concept to production Proven ability to manage and develop remote engineering teams Benefits Medical, dental, prescription drug, and vision insurance options 401K match to support retirement savings Employee stock purchase plan Generous paid time off and community volunteer opportunities Tuition reimbursement for continuous education support Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
