Lead Mechanical/Construction Engineer

About the role

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Lead Mechanical/Construction Engineer to work at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. The role supports facilities engineering, maintenance, and operations at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center.

Responsibilities

• Provides mechanical engineering expertise for facility projects including planning, design, construction, operations, and quality assurance.
• Provides support in areas such as planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews, inspections, and test witnessing for contractor performed facility work.
• Coordinate with project managers, operations specialists, and stakeholders to identify conditions, document requirements, and communicate project status.
• Ensure compliance with NASA, federal, state, and local regulations and facility standards.
• Support configuration management, drawing updates, and facility documentation control.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in construction management.
• Prior experience in mechanical design and facility project management.
• Strong technical and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering.
• Professional Engineer Certificate preferred but not required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to successfully pass a background investigation; NASA may require a Public Trust clearance, so eligibility to obtain one is required.
• Occasional travel within the United States may be required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $145,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. Base pay information is based on market location.
