About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a MDS Resource serving facilities in Southern Idaho Region. The role offers the tools and autonomy to be successful.
Responsibilities
- Supports facility MDS Coordinators
- Reviews MDS Assessments and discharges
- Oversees MDS 3.0 functions, both regulatory and financial
- Provides on-site consultation for RAI process and attends Medicare/Medicaid meetings
- Reviews PPS and case mix data for assigned facilities to ensure appropriate utilization from medical record documentation
- Maintains current RAI knowledge, Medicaid, Medicare and regulations for post-acute assessment, documentation, and reimbursement
- Supports MDS Coordinators and participates in facility-level evaluation of their performance
- Utilizes PCC and regularly interprets data from the system
- Trains MDS Coordinators at assigned facilities, as indicated
- Monitors and reports on metrics such as MDS, CAA, care plan completion, accuracy, and timeliness
- Monitors Medicare meeting processes including utilization review, Skilled Services meetings, and triple check
- Monitors Medicaid meeting processes and CMIQRP calculation
- Ensures appropriate lengths of stay for residents
- Reports 30-Day post return to acute care ratings
- Ensures correct reimbursement for appropriate care and service provided
- Monitors Quality Measures, including Five Star Ratings
Requirements
- Graduate of a RN program. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certified MDS Assessment Coordinator (CMAC) or Resident Assessment Coordinator – Certified (RAC-CT) strongly preferred
- At least two years in MDS Coordinator position required
