Your Impact

The Advanced MCE Wind Technician in the Main Component Exchange (MCE) division will act as a lead team member to support and supervise field work on-site focusing on Safety, Quality, and Efficiency. They will also perform up-tower repairs and diagnostics on medium & major components including Generator Bearings, Generator Slip Rings, Rotor & Stator Cables, Gearbox HSS replacement, HSS bearings, IMS replacement, IMS bearings, Yaw Drive Repair/Exchange, Generator Exchanges & Trunnion Pin Repairs. The position is 100% travel.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead team members by supporting lifting operations of equipment at heights over 250'
  • Oversee lifting operations following skills verification of large components and ability to create, review, correct, and amend lifting plans
  • Conduct safe and efficient repairs to all Wind Turbine electrical systems
  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an Authorized Person
  • Conduct pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs), and daily safety discussions
  • Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner
  • Properly document all work in a variety of electronic formats and provide feedback to the Safety and Quality department for business improvements

Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.

Core Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of direct experience on any Platforms
  • Direct turbine specific experience is required
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics by various Wind Turbine manufacturers
  • Main Component Exchange (MCE) experience required with additional knowledge in lifting operations
  • Detailed knowledge and skill in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and major faults
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely perform job duties, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers. Interpreter services are not available for this position.

Physical/Work Environment

  • Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet
  • Maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance
  • Lift and move equipment as needed (more than 50 pounds)
  • Work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions with blowing pollen, dust, and grasses

Pay

Base Pay Range: $36 USD - $45 USD
