Responsibilities
- Train all Material System Techs in their job responsibilities.
- Attend Production Scheduling meetings and prepare a schedule for Material System Techs.
- Read, follow, and verify work orders to ensure product is manufactured to specification.
- Identify raw materials and label correctly.
- Properly program, set up and operate entire material handling system (Novatec) including blenders, dryers, hoppers and grinder evacuation units.
- Troubleshoot and correct common material and material system problems.
- Change materials as required.
- Complete moisture tests daily on MAX 4000XL Moisture Analyzer and document results.
- Clean and maintain material blenders, hoppers, dryers, and grinders.
- Verify Closed loop regrind systems are in place and working.
- Report material system maintenance needs to maintenance dept including grinders, hoppers, material system, and barrel evac units.
- Complete material transactions for additions and subtractions of raw materials.
- Invent and report on the use of materials regrind and scrap including purging's.
- Maintain the FIFO and inventory of regrind materials.
- Aid in maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality/Environmental System certifications by supporting: corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.
- Verify daily that the Material Log sheets are completed and correct.
- Perform daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly cycle counts of raw material as needed.
- Change, clean and maintain all pump filters in material system as required.
- Unload "Bulk Material Trucks" into proper silo, following specific work instructions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- 1+ year of manufacturing material handling experience (preferably in injection molding environment).
- Ability to read and follow work orders.
- Properly complete material changes according to the production schedule and work order.
- Use and complete Electronic Material Log properly.
- Ability to properly identify and label all types of raw materials (virgin, regrind, recyclable scrap and waste materials).
- Properly correct common material and material system related problems.
- Properly complete cleaning on grinders, hoppers, blenders, and press during material changes.
- Properly complete material transactions using the ERP system.
- Successfully complete forklift training and certification.
- Ability to use Microsoft Suite products.
