About the role
We are seeking a Lead Material Program Manager (MPM) to join our Global Supply Chain team in Huntsville, AL, supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) mission.
Responsibilities
- Support the Primary Material CAM in maintaining material cost baseline, EAC/ETC updates, variance analysis, and earned value performance
- Analyze material cost and schedule variances and drive corrective actions in coordination with the Primary CAM, Program Management, and Finance
- Ensure engineering changes and material execution remain aligned with approved material budgets
- Provide clear material cost, performance, and risk inputs for Program Management Reviews (PMRs)
- Align with program teams, leading cross-functional supply chain efforts, and driving communication across stakeholders
- Ensure material readiness to support manufacturing execution and fluctuating build requirements
- Drive supplier performance recovery for late, high-risk, or constrained materials in alignment with CAM priorities
- Lead material risk identification and mitigation efforts for long-lead and capacity-constrained items
- Cook up supplier execution with planning, logistics, quality, and manufacturing teams
- Act as a key liaison between Global Supply Chain and Program Management for material execution topics
- Partner closely with the Primary CAM to maintain consistent messaging and escalation posture
- Leverage ERP and reporting tools to track material performance, risks, and trends
- Support corporate and program-level reporting tied to material cost, schedule, and execution performance
Requirements
- BA degree and 8+ years in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
- MBA or MS and 6+ years of related experience
- 3+ years of proven experience leading supply chain efforts in a defense or high-complexity manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a shared or supporting Control Account Management (CAM) role, including cost tracking, variance analysis, and coordination with a primary CAM
- Experience implementing cost reduction and supplier innovation initiatives within a defense supply chain environment
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain and related systems along with material procurement
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to understand and facilitate complex supply chain decision-making
- Strong project management skills
- Prominent ability to be a self-starter and quick learner, capable of supporting efforts to achieve goals
- Excellent written and oral communications skills at all levels both internally and externally with customers and suppliers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced situation with continuous innovation and flexibility in an on-site manufacturing environment
- Must be able to collaborate and effectively influence across multiple functions to achieve supply chain performance requirements
- High level of proficiency in MS Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
- Working knowledge of customer flow through requirements such as AS9100, FAR, ITAR, OFFSET, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and public law
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one is required
Qualifications
- Deltek Costpoint experience
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs
- Experience with AI-based procurement tools, supplier performance dashboards, and digital twins for material planning
- Subcontracts/Procurement Experience
- Supplier relationship management experience
- Previous mechanical or electronic manufacturing environment experience a plus
- Supply chain certification: APICS CSCP, ISM CPSM
