About the Role

Lead Material Handler position in Carrollton, TX, responsible for receiving, shipping, and handling raw materials, packaging, and finished goods as they enter or leave the facility, including internal transfers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train the department to meet all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
  • Ensure 5S tasks are completed daily; conduct housekeeping audits and address any gaps.
  • Train new employees and manage training packets for new or transferred employees.
  • Assign tasks to employees based on schedule and targets to safely and efficiently complete the production schedule.
  • Communicate team needs internally and across departments, shifts, and levels of supervision.
  • Complete written and computer reports, such as end-of-shift reports.
  • Notify supervisors of safety, performance, operational, or resourcing issues, incidents, or deviations from standard practice.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings; review crewing, vacation calendars, and coordinate coverage for other shifts.
  • Perform necessary inventory and production tasks within SAP.
  • Assist employees and supervisors in solving operational problems.
  • Act as an Emergency Responder for first aid incidents and spill response.
  • Move finished goods from production line to shipping or warehouse storage.
  • Receive and put away inventory using SAP processes.
  • Load/unload trucks and support production material flow.
  • Operate forklifts, swing reach equipment, and automated packaging equipment.
  • Inspect product for defects and ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records using RF scanners and computer systems.
  • Stage materials and keep filling lines stocked.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform basic equipment checks.

Requirements

  • Ability to lead by example, communicate effectively, train team members, and take ownership.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and record progress/procedures/steps as completed.
  • Strong computer skills, including SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook for email.
  • Required to bend, reach, lift, operate/adjust equipment, and carry materials.
  • Lifting up to 75 pounds; ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Wear protective gear, including gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and other PPE as required.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take ownership of area of responsibility.
  • Strong teamwork and attention to detail.

Pay

$22.18 hourly + $1.00 shift differential.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. Full-time with bi-weekly pay.
