Responsibilities

  • Perform all Senior Manufacturing Technician duties and functions as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining workflow and ensure availability of proper materials and tools.
  • Adjust workflow and assignments to meet manufacturing schedules.
  • Guide, communicate with, and coordinate work teams in the assigned area.
  • Provide direction to co-workers when new situations or problems arise.
  • Determine operation sequences and methods where specifications are unclear.
  • Assist supervisor with analyzing and resolving work problems or help other technicians implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and conduct on-the-job training to ensure proper employee training before performing work; coordinate cross-training and job rotation schedules.
  • Confirm quality criteria is properly inspected, verified, and documented during manufacturing to meet product specifications, tolerances, prints, and customer order requirements.
  • Identify and correct defects appropriately.
  • Complete process check sheets, daily manufacturing sheets, and other required reporting and paperwork.
  • Interpret and explain complex prints, specifications, and work instructions to other technicians.
  • Safely move, handle, and store materials without damaging items or property.
  • Follow standard work procedures and sequences to meet safety, quality, cost, and productivity standards.
  • Perform TPM and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and machines.
  • Practice 6S and comply with all safety rules, guidelines, and safe working practices.
  • Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissor lifts, and work platforms.
  • Understand and follow all Hyosung HICO policies and procedures.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of Hyosung HICO.
  • Know and discuss Hyosung HICO’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies and their impact on work.
  • Help develop training materials.
  • Assist with the implementation of quality procedures and 6S initiatives.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and Kaizen activities.
  • Support and provide backup for the Manufacturing Supervisor to coordinate materials and workflow as needed.
  • Assist other manufacturing areas as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field or vocational/trade school certification, plus five years of prior manufacturing experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing policies, procedures, and practices applicable to power transformer operations.
  • Advanced mechanical/technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced experience reading manufacturing drawings, specifications, prints, or work instructions.
  • Developed math and geometry skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable safety procedures and policies.
  • Developed skills in the use of basic industrial measuring tools.
  • Developed skills in the proper use of various hand and power tools.
  • Developed computer skills with emphasis on MS Office and business systems.
  • Developed interpersonal skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and correctly use hand and power tools and measurement devices.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairs.
  • Ability to inspect work and judge quality compared to established standards.
  • Ability to operate powered equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to work in outdoor climate conditions and normal indoor temperatures.
  • Stand and walk a minimum of 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, kneel, and reach above the shoulders as required.
  • Ability to work in restricted spaces.
  • Ability to climb and work up to 20 feet off the ground for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to use all applicable PPE including hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves.
