About the role
The Lead Maintenance Technician oversees the day-to-day maintenance and janitorial needs of the building. They act as a leader and role model for the maintenance team, performing a wide range of tasks including preventative, emergency, cosmetic, and routine maintenance, as well as regular inspections.
Responsibilities
- Schedules and responds to work orders, including following up with residents and management as needed.
- Aids in safety trainings and inspections.
- Follows up with repairs of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues.
- Follows up with management on projects and inspection requirements, meeting deadlines as necessary.
- Operates and installs equipment in accordance with local, state, and national codes.
- Performs inspections, tests, and maintains safety equipment and appliances for proper operation.
- Functions in an on-call capacity and has reliable transportation.
Requirements
- Advanced skills in maintenance and a strong background in multi-family apartment maintenance.
- 5+ years of multi-family apartment maintenance experience preferred, or 3+ years of comparable experience in a certified journeyman level trade.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures relevant to housing.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills, fluency in English.
