About the role
The Maintenance Lead position is part of a unified organization of five businesses at STS Metals, dedicated to delivering high-quality titanium, stainless, alloy steel, and nickel products to the aerospace, medical, industrial, and space industries. This role is a full-time, non-exempt position within Brown Pacific.
Responsibilities
- Assist Engineering, Operations, and/or Maintenance Managers with R&D and improvement projects.
- Work with outside contractors, obtain bids, schedule work, and assist with projects.
- Lead by example and delegate tasks to the department.
- Work as a mentor for all aspects of the job, showing the highest level of leadership.
- Assist Management with departmental training, including confined space, lockout/tagout procedures.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to minimize downtime and meet production goals.
- Assess and perform repairs on equipment with minimal supervision, ensuring equipment is back in service with limited downtime.
- Use basic power and hand tools, and operate a forklift.
- Show knowledge of PLCs, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Have experience troubleshooting systems, particularly in industrial furnaces, boilers, and water treatment.
- Work safely around industrial equipment and comply with OSHA safety rules.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Continued education in the field of current work.
- Industrial electrical experience.
- Good, dependable attendance with ability to work overtime on short notice.
- 3-5 years of experience performing mechanical maintenance activities.
- Minimum 5 years of experience performing electrical maintenance activities.
- Experience installing industrial equipment a plus.
- Able to work safely around industrial equipment.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic skills using power/hand tools and operating a forklift.
- Knowledge of PLCs, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Previous experience troubleshooting systems, especially in industrial furnaces, boilers, and water treatment.
- Experience in industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance.
