About the role

The Maintenance Lead position is part of a unified organization of five businesses at STS Metals, dedicated to delivering high-quality titanium, stainless, alloy steel, and nickel products to the aerospace, medical, industrial, and space industries. This role is a full-time, non-exempt position within Brown Pacific.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Engineering, Operations, and/or Maintenance Managers with R&D and improvement projects.
  • Work with outside contractors, obtain bids, schedule work, and assist with projects.
  • Lead by example and delegate tasks to the department.
  • Work as a mentor for all aspects of the job, showing the highest level of leadership.
  • Assist Management with departmental training, including confined space, lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to minimize downtime and meet production goals.
  • Assess and perform repairs on equipment with minimal supervision, ensuring equipment is back in service with limited downtime.
  • Use basic power and hand tools, and operate a forklift.
  • Show knowledge of PLCs, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Have experience troubleshooting systems, particularly in industrial furnaces, boilers, and water treatment.
  • Work safely around industrial equipment and comply with OSHA safety rules.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Continued education in the field of current work.
  • Industrial electrical experience.
  • Good, dependable attendance with ability to work overtime on short notice.
  • 3-5 years of experience performing mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing electrical maintenance activities.
  • Experience installing industrial equipment a plus.
  • Able to work safely around industrial equipment.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic skills using power/hand tools and operating a forklift.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Previous experience troubleshooting systems, especially in industrial furnaces, boilers, and water treatment.
  • Experience in industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance.
