Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes
- Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders
- Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.
- Repair gas/water utility lines & drainage that serve applicable appliances (dishwashers, kitchen equipment, fireplaces, etc.)
- Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
- Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
- Carry out regular maintenance and installation of plumbing systems such as plumbing system cleaning, cracks, and damages on pipes, wear and tear of pipes, grease and soap build-up, and toilet repair
- Inspect previously installed plumbing systems to ensure function
- Apply current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing systems
- Follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections
- Manage a work log and keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites and provide documentation regarding the plumbing system
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements
- Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents
- Function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least four years of related experience required
- Good working knowledge of water supply, heating, and ventilation systems
- Must hold a George Master Plumber license or have the ability to obtain the license with an agreed reasonable time
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands
- Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noises
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds at times
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessary
- Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels
- Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
