Essential Responsibilities
- Program and run CNC programs on a range of machines, including routers, plasma cutters, and laser cutters
- Lead the CNC Operator in learning operations/systems/organization of that role
- Make use of all cam software associated with each machine
- Maintain tool crib inventory and equipment maintenance schedules
- Cook with the Digital Fabrication/Drafting team and Fabrication Managers to establish timelines and priorities across projects
- Lifting large format sheet and laminate materials up to 5’ X 10’
- Ensure production quality standards are safely and efficiently met to fulfill project requirements and deadlines in a cost effective manner
- Maintain CNC area cleanliness and project specific organization
- Organize and manage workflow according to project deadlines
- Willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends to ensure all jobs are completed within designated timelines
- Calibrate and setup CNC machine for safe and optimal operation
- Supervise machine throughout full duration of run cycles
- Inspect completed parts to ensure accuracy of machining to blueprint specifications
- Ensuring proper safety practices are followed, personal protective equipment is worn at all times, and that a safe and efficient work space is maintained
Qualifications
- Have 2+ years experience as a CNC Machinist
- Have extensive experience using V-Carve & CAD
- Able to read and interpret mechanical, orthographic and technical drawings
- Have skill in operating precision measuring devices to ensure accuracy of machine
- Have mechanical aptitude and extensive mathematical and g-code knowledge
- Have strong Computer skills
- Good Common Sense
- Experience with Laguna Tools a plus
- Scenic or theater background a plus
