About the role
The Lead Machinist is responsible for overseeing the machining operations on 5-axis machines to ensure high-quality parts are produced efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage 5-axis machining operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Train and mentor junior machinists in best practices and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and optimize part designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a machinist or similar role.
- Proficiency with 5-axis CNC machines and associated software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with quality control and inspection processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency with 5-axis CNC programming and operation.
- Strong understanding of material properties and their impact on machining processes.
- Experience with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software.
- Good organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
