Lead Machinist - 5 Axis

About the role

The Lead Machinist is responsible for overseeing the machining operations on 5-axis machines to ensure high-quality parts are produced efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage 5-axis machining operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Train and mentor junior machinists in best practices and safety protocols.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and optimize part designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a machinist or similar role.
• Proficiency with 5-axis CNC machines and associated software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with quality control and inspection processes.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools.

Skills

• Advanced proficiency with 5-axis CNC programming and operation.
• Strong understanding of material properties and their impact on machining processes.
• Experience with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software.
• Good organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
