Lead Machine Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance technicians across all levels; provide coaching, and mentoring.
  • Partner with senior leadership on capital planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated systems.
  • Provide expert-level diagnostics on PLCs, robotics, control systems, and material handling equipment.
  • Support and optimize automated warehouse and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead installation, upgrades, and modifications of machinery and facility systems.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance documentation, reporting, and compliance with operational standards.
  • Oversee and support maintenance across multiple disciplines, including:
    • Electrical systems (motors, controls, wiring, lighting, safety systems)
    • HVAC systems (maintenance, repair, compliance, building management systems)
    • Plumbing and piping systems
    • Building infrastructure and carpentry
  • Ensure preventive maintenance is executed on all equipment and systems.
  • Monitor facility systems and respond to alarms, failures, and critical issues.
  • Coordinate work orders, PM schedules, and emergency repairs.
  • Lead maintenance efforts during critical downtime or emergency.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8–12+ years of machine maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution environments; 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in technical teams; Proven experience managing complex maintenance operations and projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of: Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; PLC programming, diagnostics, and automation systems; Robotics, HMI systems, and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet); Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation; Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across multi-system environments.
  • Education: Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred; Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience considered.
