About the role

We are recruiting experienced Locate Technicians to step into Lead Locate Technician roles. The ideal candidate will aid, supervise, and organize the tasks of locate technicians to ensure precise and efficient identification of underground utilities. As a Lead Locate Technician, you will play a pivotal role in project management, mentoring team members, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance: Perform damage investigations, conduct audits (including Field Safety Audits), and execute ride-alongs with crew members.
• Team Management: Manage ticket distribution, upkeep of vehicles (issues and maintenance), equipment and supplies (including issues and distribution), and recruitment for the team.
• Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to locate technicians, foster positivity and safety among crew members, assist with difficult locates, and conduct crew meetings and reporting.
• Technical Expertise: Continuously learn about equipment and technology.
• Customer Interaction: Address concerns or inquiries from customers and maintain positive relationships through effective communication.
• Safety Compliance: Report and investigate accidents/injuries and conduct SOP directives.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug-free.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to locate.
• Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
• Ability to interact with the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives, and all those under their direction.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
