Lead Lab Technologist - Generalist - Nights *Sign-On Bonus Eligible*

Location: New York, New York | Shift: Night (12:00 AM – 8:00 AM) with rotating weekends and holidays

About the Role

NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital serves as the primary healthcare provider for New Yorkers living and working south of 14th Street. As a full-time Lead Technologist on the night shift, you will serve as a lead generalist for the laboratories, performing testing and overseeing operations across the Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology departments. This role involves leading workflow processes, running quality control, calibrating instruments, and performing both automated and manual patient testing. You will also help resolve testing issues, troubleshoot instruments, and ensure adequate supply levels to prevent disruptions in patient testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead workflow processes for Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology departments.
• Perform quality control, instrument calibration, and patient testing, including automated and manual tests.
• Resolve patient testing issues and assist with instrument troubleshooting.
• Monitor and manage supplies to ensure uninterrupted patient testing, collaborating with the Supervisor as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from the New York Education Department.
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience, or 2 years with a Master’s degree, or 1 year with an MD, DO, or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in Microbiology and Chemistry or Hematology.
• Experience working in a hospital system.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Pay

Salary Range: $61.40–$70.55 per hour. Now offering a competitive sign-on bonus up to $10,000, commensurate with experience.
