Purpose: The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to produce diagnostic CT images of designated anatomic areas as prescribed by established scan protocols, while providing appropriate care to the age of the patient served by the department of radiology.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates timely throughput for CT patients by prioritizing exams based on priority level.
- Escalates hurdles to timely completion to Lead CT Technologist or Manager.
- Properly identifies patient using two patient identifiers, checks the imaging order for complete information, proper exam and/or procedure, schedules/prioritizes as needed, and assesses risk of pregnancy prior to commencing with exam or procedure.
- Explains the procedure to the patient with professionalism and compassion.
